This time on my trip to Ocean Park I made it around the whole park to check all the other animals and attractions out – last time I only went around the Waterfront section, this time I took the train up the mountain to the Summit section. Even though I’m not big on rides, it was still worth making the short trip here (the train only took maybe 5mins, and I hardly had to wait any time for it at all) for the amazing views and also some more animals!

The two panda houses also are home to a few other animals – in the Giant Panda Adventure you can also find red pandas, on this visit there were 3 listed here and I saw 2 of them. With people excited about seeing the giant panda twins, many visitors were missing the red pandas that were right behind them, so I made sure to stop and get a good look because you can get super close up to them here. And after exiting the panda building, on the one-way loop there are also Asian short clawed otters, which are always cute to watch. I like their space here, however it’s all through glass which can sometimes be difficult to see and get pictures through. In the Hong Kong Jockey Club Sichuan Treasures building there are also golden snub nosed monkeys which were very popular, and there was even a baby! It was super cute and interestingly was still a light grey in colour and not yet had the recognisable golden tone to it’s fur. On my last visit I also checked out the meerkats and the aquarium in the Waterfront area as well, so I didn’t stop by this time. In the afternoon I headed up to the Summit. Up here there are a number of rides, mostly thrill rides, and some typical fairground style options, but I was focused on the animals. First I headed towards the Marine Breeding and Research Centre where there were dolphins – there are some timed training/feeding sessions, I missed these however the dolphins were still doing some trainings and it was interesting to see the facility as a whole. I really liked the Pacific Pier section, where there were seals along with some very nice theming. I also walked through the Rainforest area which was quite nice but I didn’t get a lot of pictures. And lastly was the Polar Adventure area which I really liked, especially the seal and walrus exhibit, which was designed so you viewed from above the water level, then worked down to an underwater view. All the animals were very active so I got some really nice views. There were also penguins here and a very nice arctic fox den – I saw the arctic foxes which were so cute, but it was too tricky to get any pictures.
