P A N D A S @ P A I R I D A I Z A May 2025

After a few days in Berlin, it was time for the next panda stop, heading to Pairi Daiza in Belgium! As well as it being my 4th visit to Zoo Berlin, this was also my 4th visit to Pairi Daiza, and second time staying on site in the resort. Of course, the trip was all about the pandas – and actually this was my first time there when there was just the 2 adult pandas, previous visits have been for cubs Tian Bao, and Bao Di and Bao Mei. This was definitely a more relaxed visit with just 2 pandas to see and both living in the same area, which was quite nice and reminded me of my usual Edinburgh Zoo visits where it was always just adults and those were still a fun experience!

Zoo Berlin, May 2025

Of course, with 2 days at Zoo Berlin to see the pandas, there was also some time to see everything else! I think there have only been two changes since my last visit in 2020 and those are the new Empire of Cats section, which opened in 2022 – as well as pandas I really like cats so was looking forward to checking that out – and also the Rhino Pagoda, which opened in 2023. These two new spaces, along with the relatively new World of Birds house, really do give the zoo new vibes. On this trip I also decided I’d probably quite like to come back to Zoo Berlin again this year, so decided to get myself a membership – I opted for the Zoo-only option (instead of Zoo plus Aquarium) which cost €63 for an adult pass. With a 1-day ticket costing €25, the pass pays for itself on the third visit, and I made 2 visits on this trip alone – I think I’ve given myself the challenge of seeing how many times I can visit in the next year!

P A N D A S @ Z O O B E R L I N May 2025

Back to see the pandas at Zoo Berlin! I never got to see the first-born twins of Germany while they were still living at the Zoo (but I’ve been lucky to see them in China), which was a bit sad, so I was keen to make sure I got to see the second-born twins of Germany while they were still cubs! Honestly such a great decision and we (my mum and I) had a fantastic weekend trip at Zoo Berlin! You can check out my 2018-2020 trip photos in my first post on pandas at Zoo Berlin *here*

Worlds first WORLD OF FROZEN at Hong Kong Disneyland, May 2024+February 2025

The Frozen franchise is one of my favourites – so the worlds first themed land, the WORLD OF FROZEN, deserved it’s own post! This land was definitely a deciding factor in making a return visit to Hong Kong Disneyland within a year of my first visit – I was first there 6 months after the opening of the new land on my May 2024 trip, and had such a great time that I then returned just after the 1st anniversary on my February 2025 trip. Let’s get on in to this fantastic land:

Loved HONG KONG DISNEYLAND so much I went back twice in a year!

Third Disney Resort ticked off! I ended both my May 2024 and February 2025 trips with a stop in Hong Kong and I just had to make a visit to Hong Kong Disneyland given that I was there already … and I LOVED it! On my first trip, I went for almost 2 full days, staying 2 nights at the Disney’s Explorers Lodge on site, on my second trip I made it a daytrip from the city – and had a great time on both occasions. I even have a third trip planned, it really has become one of my obsessions XD I loved the World Of Frozen so much and took so many pictures that that’s going to be a separate post, but onto the rest of the park!
