Yang Guang February 2023 (Edinburgh Zoo)

In February 2023 I made two trips to Edinburgh Zoo – the first of which was for my members Pandamonium tour and unfortunately Yang Guang was really enjoying sitting eating with his back to the window! It’s a typical position for him, but he was super comfy on this particular day and didn’t get up for the few hours I was there. Luckily I ended up heading back to the zoo a few days later to meet up with a friend who was visiting and we struck gold with an awake Yang Guang eating facing the window this time. This was an afternoon visit and I was there between 1PM and around 3:30PM when the panda viewing closes (Winter hours) and I think this was a good time for visiting. It was very windy on the days of my visits, so Yang Guang was kept inside and he didn’t seem to be too bothered by the gusts from what we could see. I still managed to get some lovely pictures of him enjoying his lunch/afternoon meal – but fingers crossed he’ll be outside on my next visit!
